the night I might get insulin

My mom's arriving in about an hour. I'm keeping myself busy doing my documentation for the thesis.

I saw a box-full of insulin injectors. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

I'm doing five injections a day of insulin because I just have 5 ml srynges and I take 8ml morning and 4evening and some Lanthus at bedtime. I've been shooting up insulin for a dozen years or so. It is a bother, briefly painful on the few occasions when you accidentally hit a nerve, mildly messy if you accidentally hit a blood vessel, but, in the end, more irritating than troublesome. You just have to get used to it. Of course if you find yourself making a fuss of injections in general it is going to drive you crazy. By the way, insulin needles are much finer than the ones used for other drugs so most of the time you don't feel it at all. You'll live through it.
Yeah that's what my grandmother says about the insulin needles when I saw her "shooting up". My endocrinologist also showed me the "evolution" of the insulin needle; man 12 years? Wow. I think I'm supposed to "shoot-up" once before bed time. I've still to get the dosage though.

The thing is, I have this terrible phobia with anything pointed entering my skin. I've had it since I can remember.

Oh well. I'll try to keep your comments in mind, though.
